＃基数と序数の違い

＊基数 → 数などを数える時に使う

• 15歳、二匹、3分、4時間などの数字部分。
• I have one dog and two cats./私は一匹の犬と二匹の猫を飼っている。
• My son is three years old./私の息子は3歳です。

＊序数 → 順番を数える時に使う

• first/一番目（の）、最初の
• second/二番目（の）
• third/三番目（の）
• This is my first computer./これが私の最初のコンピューターです。
• The second answer is wrong but the third answer is correct./二番目の答えは間違っていますが三番目の答えは合っています。

＃序数の作り方

＊ほとんどの序数は基数の最後にthをつける。（one,two,threeは例外）

• one → first
• two → second
• three → third

＊基数の形が変化するもの

• five → fiveth (×)  ＊fiveのveはfになる。→ fifth　
  
• eight → eightth (×)  → eighth　＊eightのtはいらない。
• nine → nineth (×)  → ninth　＊nineのeはいらない。
• twelve → twelveth (×)  → twelfth　＊twelveのveはfになる。

＊yで終わる基数はyをieに変えてthを付ける

• twenty → twentieth
• thirty → thirtieth
• fourty → fourtieth

＊firstを1st,secondを2nd,thirdを3rd,またtenthやeleventhのように語尾がthの序数は10th,11thのように表記することもある
